Yours to create.

You retain ownership of your original lettering. Exported fonts have no added usage restrictions from Quietly Iconiq. Use artwork you own or have permission to turn into a font.

A real font file.

Exports are TrueType (.ttf), with character mappings, metrics, and supported OpenType features. Install the font or upload it to an app that accepts custom fonts. App support for contextual forms, cursive positioning, alternates, and ligatures varies.

Local, from start to finish.

Your artwork and projects stay on this device. First build downloads Pyodide and FontTools from jsDelivr. Backups are the way to keep a separate copy or move projects to another device.

YOUR LETTERING, YOUR FONT

Build a cursive font that feels like you.

Quietly Iconiq’s online font builder turns your lettering into a custom font. Create connected script with entry and exit points, or choose handwritten print for separate letters. Use the template workflow to bring your handwriting into the editor, or draw your letterforms directly.

How to make your own handwriting font

  1. Start a blank font and choose handwritten print or connected script.
  2. Choose your characters, then draw letters or upload your artwork.
  3. Adjust letter size, spacing, and script connections. Preview words to check joins and overlaps.
  4. Build your font, review the checks, and download the TrueType file.

Can I make a connected cursive font?

Yes. Connected Script mode provides connection guides, entry and exit points, and letter-form controls. Refine the joins and preview different words; good cursive connections still need your attention and testing.

Can I use my own handwriting?

Yes. Draw in the editor or use the handwriting template and upload workflow. Use clear, dark lettering on a light background for easier extraction.

What can I download?

Build and export a TrueType (.ttf) font to install in compatible applications. Save a project backup as well so you can return to the editable lettering.

Is this font builder free?

The current Font Maker is free and does not require a personal account. Font creation runs in your browser; projects are stored on this device. Use only artwork you own or are licensed to turn into a font.

Preparing lettering from an image? Try the Background Remover or refine artwork with the SVG Converter & Editor.
